Orlaineta has worked extensively with wood. One of the techniques that
he has developed the most is lathe, with which he has concentrated on
making essential forms, almost archetypal, that evoke ‘use’, thus linking
them to the utilitarian in a symbolic and referential way.
In this ceramic series, Orlaineta uses the same shapes, executing a transversal cut in each one that produces position and frontality; this frontality inevitably evokes a face, a facet, or a faction. Their size and shape reference to bowls or pots or bases.
This new fully functional series invites us to compose and decompose; a simple cut of the object, originally symmetrical, creates infinite variations of shapes and positions.
